Show Off tweets by keywords [Twitter Badge]
A friend of mine, yesterday, asked me “How do I display tweets about particular topic or keyword on my website?”
Well, this is NOT that difficult. You can display tweets on some topic(s) or keyword(s) with the help of Yahoo pipes! Yahoo pipes is a free online service that lets you remix popular feed types and create data mashups using a visual editor. I recently wrote an article about most useful pipes available on internet but, there I missed this one.
Choosing a Topic or keywords:
Import feeds to Yahoo pipes:
Create a new pipe in Yahoo pipes. When you’re done, you get a big blank piece of graph paper and the list of tools on the left side, which you can drag on to free area. To combine feed from various resources into one use Feed fetcher from Sources > Fetch Feed.Customizations:
Block user’s tweets to appear in results:
If you think someone is tweeting same thing a lot then you may block that user’s tweets appearing in search results. Blocking can be done with help of filters (Operators>filters). Replace the *** in figure with username you want to block. That’s it!

Show updates, not replies:
Show only updates in your results by blocking @ sign from your feed. This will make sure that, you are posting updates on that topic and not reply to someone.

Stop Retweets appearing in results:
You can stop that “RT” tweets appearing in twitter feed by creating another filter as shown in figure.

There are thousands of applications possible for this Yahoo pipe if modified intelligently. If you have done so, comment it down so that we include it in this post. The Yahoo Pipe that we created for this tutorial can be cloned from here.
